Prerequisites
To ensure all participants are prepared for the demands of the course, we recommend the following prerequisites:
Basic Knowledge of Pilates Principles.
While no prior mat Pilates practice is required, it’s beneficial to have a general understanding of Pilates principles and an interest in the Reformer Pilates method.
Anatomy Understanding.
A basic grasp of human anatomy, particularly in relation to movement and exercise, is beneficial. We will cover anatomy in the course, but prior knowledge will enhance your understanding of key concepts. (If you’re new to anatomy, consider taking a beginner’s anatomy course before starting.)
Access to Reformer Equipment.
(Highly Recommended)
Access to a Reformer Pilates machine is highly recommended, either at a studio or at home, to practice and refine your technique. This is essential for completing your 30-hour practice sheet and developing teaching skills. However, most exercises can be recreated using small equipment like stretch bands, so if you don’t have access to a Reformer machine, you can still follow along with modifications using smaller props.
Teaching Experience.
(Strongly Advised)
While teaching experience is not mandatory, having prior experience in instructing or coaching is strongly advised. This will help you feel more confident in guiding clients through movements and managing a class setting.
Internet Access.
Ensure you have reliable internet access and a device capable of accessing on-demand videos, participating in the online community, and uploading your video submission.
Commitment to Learning.
This is a comprehensive course that requires self-discipline and commitment. Set aside time each week to work through the modules, complete practice hours, and prepare for assessments.
